Koen Ebeling Koning (Enschede, 1968) was born in Enschede, raised in Deventer and currently lived and works in Amsterdam. Like his father, Ebeling Koning was educated at the A.K.I. (Artez) in Enschede; he also studied at the Rijksacademy, Amsterdam. Ebeling Koning makes works of and with himself, not by putting the ‘I’ at centre stage, but by exhibiting it in all its daily occupations. For his work, that is part of many private and municipal collecties, he was awarded the Koninklijke Subsidie voor Vrije Schilderkunst and the Paul Citroen Prijs.
