Annemarie de Groot (Groningen, 1950) was educated at Academy Minerva, Groningen, and the Kokoschka Academy in Salzburg. From the start, the visually exuberant world of circus, theatre, ballet and opera has attracted her: clowns, musicians, cabaret performers allow her to express feelings that are not immediately visible. Recently she has painted a big triptych for the entrance of the Martini-Plazetheatre in Groningen.
